Terms & Conditions

Paddock Research connects people with research opportunities that help brands understand everyday experiences. These terms explain community membership, project participation, and communications. Project-specific information and consent requests may also apply.

1. Community membership

Community signup is intended for adults age 18 or older. Joining is free. Provide accurate information and contact details that belong to you. Your member number helps us match information to your profile; keep your personal profile code private. Optional profile questions help us identify relevant opportunities and can be skipped.

Applying or receiving a welcome email does not guarantee a project invitation, selection, or payment. Onboarding messages may be sent automatically. Each project has its own eligibility requirements, and additional questions may be needed before an invitation is confirmed.

2. Your choice to participate

Participation is voluntary. You can decline an invitation, decline a question, or stop participating. Before accepting a project, review its activities, time commitment, location or technology requirements, compensation, and any conditions for payment, including what happens if you withdraw. Our research opportunities are not sales presentations, and you will not be asked to purchase a product as a condition of community membership.

For projects involving recordings, observers, identifiable responses, confidentiality obligations, or in-home product placement and testing, review the specific disclosures and instructions before agreeing. Community membership alone is not consent to recording or every future project.

3. Email and project communications

We use your contact details for membership acknowledgments, welcome and profile messages, relevant project invitations, eligibility questions, scheduling, reminders, participation updates, and payment support. Some messages may be automated. You can request an end to future invitations by emailing brian.love@paddockresearch.com and identifying the email address used to join. Let us know whether you wish to stop email, text, or both. If you are currently participating in a project, contact us to arrange any necessary project or payment communication.

4. Optional text messaging and calls

When you separately opt in, Paddock Research may text you at the number you provided about future project invitations and updates, including eligibility, scheduling, confirmations, reminders, and follow-up. Messages may use automated technology. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Text consent is optional and is not a condition of joining the community, making a purchase, or participating in research. Providing a phone number or accepting these terms alone does not constitute consent to automated texts or calls. Any automated or prerecorded calls require the consent applicable to that calling activity; an SMS opt-in is not blanket consent to every type of call.

5. Changing your messaging choice

Reply STOP to a project text to withdraw text consent. You may receive a single confirmation of your request. For help, reply HELP or contact brian.love@paddockresearch.com. You can also withdraw consent by contacting us directly. Providing your number again or joining another project does not, by itself, renew withdrawn text consent; a new opt-in is needed.

Tell us if you no longer control the phone number on your profile. Messages depend on mobile network availability and delivery is not guaranteed. Do not use text messaging for emergencies.

6. Compensation and taxes

Members who qualify and participate in paid projects receive the compensation described for that project, subject to the disclosed participation and payment requirements. The amount, payment method, expected timing, and any completion or withdrawal conditions will be provided before you decide to participate. Joining the community and completing a profile are not paid activities.

Compensation may be taxable even if you do not receive a tax form. Where required, Paddock or its payment provider may request tax information through an appropriate secure process and issue applicable reporting forms. Requirements depend on payment type and applicable law. Do not submit Social Security numbers or banking details through general signup or profile forms.

7. Rescheduling and family projects

If you cannot attend a confirmed session, contact us as soon as possible, ideally at least 48 hours in advance. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may affect future project eligibility.

Parents and legal guardians should use their own contact information when joining. Projects involving minors require separate arrangements with a parent or legal guardian and any applicable permission before the child participates.

8. Privacy and profile requests

To ask about your information, request a correction or deletion, or leave the community, email brian.love@paddockresearch.com. Requests may require identity verification and are subject to applicable legal obligations and exceptions, including retention of necessary payment, tax, or opt-out records.

9. Updates and applicable law

We may update these terms and will show the revised date above. A policy update does not replace any separate consent required for messaging or project participation. These terms are governed by Illinois law, subject to applicable federal law and any mandatory protections that apply where you live.
